Baylor University announced in December that it would name its new football stadium, McLane Stadium, after one of the most distinguished and generous alumni families in Baylor University history. The name honors Drayton McLane Jr. and his family's continuing generosity to the University and lengthy history of service to Baylor.

Cory Jefferson and Odyssey Sims have both experienced deep tournament runs and championships, both are senior leaders and focal points for the 2013-14 Baylor basketball teams and both are counted on to help replace the previous year's top scorers--Pierre Jackson for the men and Brittney Griner for the women.

On Dec. 20, Baylor announced a gift of $3 million from Bob and Laura Beauchamp (pronounced BEACH-um) of Houston that will establish the Beauchamp Athletics Nutrition Center, a facility formally approved by the Baylor Board of Regents on Dec. 19. The Beauchamps' gift will support the construction of a new 12,000 to 14,000-square-foot dining environment focused on the overall health and performance of student-athletes.
