Students Step Out

December 12, 2023

Each year, thousands of Baylor students step out together into Waco to serve the community in various projects from cleanup to renovation. Leadership and service are an integral part of the Baylor experience, and the student program Steppin’ Out has become nationally recognized for its commitment to service since its origins in 1985. The event remains one of the largest collegiate community service projects in the United States.

This fall, students stepped up to collect trash at Lake Waco, working together toward a cleaner, more beautiful community, served non-profits and helped at the World Hunger Relief Institute, among other projects. Later this spring, students will partner with organizations like Habitat for Humanity, local churches and Keep Waco Beautiful to once again bring their service to public and private spaces across the city.
