Richard Harlow Jackson

Richard Harlow “Dick” Jackson, BA ’65, beloved husband of Dora Lynn “Dodie” Jackson, BBA ’98, died July 8, 2023.

Jackson graduated from Hamburg High School in Hamburg, Arizona. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force and a proud alumnus of Baylor University, where he was employed in personnel benefits for most of his career. Jackson earned his master’s degree from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth. Jackson was a long-time member of First Baptist Church in Waco, where he previously served as business administrator, deacon, Sunday school teacher, greeter and in other countless capacities.

The Richard H. and Dora L. Jackson Family/George W. Truett Theological Seminary Scholarship at Baylor University named in the honor of Jackson and his wife, Dodie, was established following Dodie’s passing in 2011. In keeping with Jackson’s career-long concern for integrity and responsible stewardship in the day-to-day administration of today’s churches, this fund aims to support students who are pursuing both seminary and business school studies.
