High Honors

The Doctor of Education (Ed.D.) in Learning and Organizational Change online program housed within Baylor’s School of Education has been named Program of the Year 2022 winner by Carnegie Project on the Education Doctorate (CPED). The CPED Program of the Year award is given annually to one or more institutions whose program demonstrates that it is distinctive, innovative and useful to other CPED members. 

“This distinguished program has been designed to foster professionals who are inspired to influence the future of organizational growth and champion systemic change across schools, government agencies, businesses and private organizations,” said Shanna Hagan-Burke, Ph.D., dean of the School of Education. “The award is a testament to the hard work, dedication and passion of our faculty and staff and continues to shine the light on the premier professional education offerings Baylor has pioneered.”

The program was specifically recognized for its overall innovation, social justice pursuits, diversity of faculty and students, and for preparing scholarly practitioners to lead change initiatives that promote equity. Built to empower experienced professionals and industry leaders to shape learning experiences in any setting, this unique program includes a combination of interactive and asynchronous coursework, collaborative group activities and live online sessions.

“The professional, racial and generational diversity of our students has created a community of scholars committed to understanding the complexities of their professional landscapes — and one another. We are proud to have built an innovative, accessible doctoral program and are honored by this recognition,” said Laila Sanguras, Ph.D., graduate program director of the Ed.D.-LOC program.
