The people behind Baylor’s teaching, research and distinct role in higher education.

Each week, Baylor Connections welcomes guests who share their work and the University’s impact with listeners of KWBU, Waco’s NPR station. Alumni and friends near and far also can enjoy the podcast online at baylor.edu/connections.

Among recent guests:

Baylor’s Sport Chaplains who describe their roles providing pastoral leadership, teaching, evangelism and care to student-athletes across Baylor’s varsity sports.

Deanna Toten Beard, Ph.D., chair of the theater department, who takes listeners behind the scenes of creating the amazing productions brought to the stage each year and previews the 2022-23 season.

Bryan Shaw, Ph.D., professor of chemistry and biochemistry, whose work to include students of all abilities in the lab has led him to make the chemistry lab accessible to students with blindness so they can pursue their love of science and build a career.

Bradley Bolen, D.M.A., senior lecturer in piano, Steinway artist and faculty member for American Voices, who shares the powerful cross-cultural experiences working with students from Iraq, Syria, Lebanon, Poland, and recently, with a promising young Ukrainian artist who was displaced by war.
