The Best Hour of the Week

Dr Pepper Hour is one of Baylor’s oldest traditions. It began in 1953 when a Baylor staff member began serving “frosted Coke” to students in Barfield Drawing Room in the Bill Daniel Student Center. Today, this beloved tradition has grown to include special celebrations, performances and a Dr Pepper Hour Tour to give future Bears a taste of the sweet life at Baylor, continuing to cultivate connection and community among the Baylor Family.

Spring 2022 - Dr Pepper Hour
“Dr Pepper Hour has provided a ton of special moments that I’ve shared with friends, like hearing the Baylor Men’s Choir for the first time. I love that Dr Pepper Hour is a unique and consistent tradition that is exclusive to Baylor.”

“I always made it a point to rush over to Dr Pepper Hour after class each Tuesday. Getting to enjoy a Baylor treat and interact with faculty and staff was always a special opportunity. My favorite memory was the service fair when community partners visited to share with us how to get involved off campus and make an impact.”

Spring 2022 - Dr Pepper Hour 2
“After Dr. (Leanne) Howell’s class, more than half of our class would go to Dr Pepper Hour as soon as class ended. We couldn’t wait for our class to end and rush over to Dr Pepper Hour.”

“It’s been life-changing how Dr Pepper Hour has expanded, blossoming relationships with friends and classmates. The opportunity to experience such a long-standing tradition surrounded by many while getting to meet others helped me develop friendships as a freshman. I met two dear friends through a mutual friend at Dr Pepper Hour and learned that we lived in the same residence hall, and we have gotten much closer to this day.”
