How Firm a Foundation
Baylor is often cited as one of the nation’s most beautiful university campuses. Beyond the well-manicured gardens and striking architecture, however, is the intrinsic beauty of a campus covered in scripture — often found in some surprising places.
I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.

As the Bears take the gridiron before each home game, they are reminded that true strength comes from God.
How very good and pleasant it is when kindred live together in unity.

The walkways around North Village are engraved with verses and converge at the Community Center with a passage focused on unity in Christ.
Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us.

Baylor’s Class of 2020 chose this verse to capture the spirit of their graduating class. Found between the Bill Daniel Student Center and Carroll Science Hall, the scripture will remind current and future students to not be deterred by challenges they may face.
Wait on the Lord: be of good courage, and He shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the Lord.

These words are found on one of the 48 bells of the McLane Carillon housed in the cupola of Pat Neff Hall. The bells chime the hour and serenade all in the heart of campus.

The support beams in the attic of the Bill Daniel Student Center are signed by various student leaders who have used the space to store items from campus events over the years. Along with their well wishes for future Bears, the students cite scripture as a blessing for all who walk under the roof of the building affectionately known as the SUB (Student Union Building).
