Steven Follis, BBA ’10, MS ’11, of Charlotte, NC, established the George Allen Haile Endowed Scholarship Fund in Truett Seminary, honoring his grandfather George Allen Haile. This scholarship supports students who attend a congregation affiliated with the national Cooperative Baptist Fellowship or the Alliance of Baptists.

Alexa B. Royston, BS ’12, completed her residency at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, specializing in physical medicine and rehabilitation (PM&R). In September 2020, Royston began her practice as a member of Spine Team Texas in Dallas. She specializes in nonsurgical spine management and electrodiagnostic medicine.

Allison B. Allman, BA ’13, was included in the inaugural edition of The Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch.

Captain Kendra Merian, BS ’13, was welcomed into the U.S. Space Force during an Oct. 14, 2020, ceremony at the U.S. Air Force Academy. She is a seven-year space professional from Pensacola, FL. Merian is a chemistry instructor at the U.S. Air Force Academy Preparatory School.

Victoria Nicolette Gist, BFA ’14, received a Willa Kim Costume Design Scholarship, awarded by the Theatre Communications Group and funded by the estate of award-winning costume designer Willa Kim. Gist used these funds during her final year of graduate school at the University of Houston to further her skills as an artist, taking additional classes in portraiture and various media. She graduated from UH in May 2020 with a Master of Fine Arts in design, costume design. Gist is a freelance designer and costume technician in New York City. She lives in Connecticut with her husband Seth Gist, BFA ’12, who is a project manager serving on various Broadway and off-Broadway productions.

Isa Torres-Loera, MDiv ’15, joined Cliff Temple Baptist Church in Dallas as pastoral resident and pastor of Cliff Temple en Español in August 2020. Torres-Loera previously was a reporter for Baptist Standard, covering Hispanic Baptist life in Texas, the U.S. and the world.
