Christmas at Baylor 2020
In a season that has been anything but normal, we crave the traditions and rituals that bring comfort and remind us of the things that persevere: family and faith. But how do you keep those traditions going in a year that is anything but traditional?
As Baylor plans for Christmas and the campus traditions that are so beloved by students and alumni alike, we look on this season with hope. While safety precautions will require us to take a different approach to our Christmas celebrations, we hope that these measures will open doors for alumni across the country and around the world to take part in these Baylor Family traditions.
While we wish it was possible to celebrate a Baylor Christmas with the Baylor Family gathering together on Burleson Quadrangle to light the Christmas tree or in Jones Concert Hall to hear the majestic music of the Chamber Singers, we embrace the opportunity to have alumni, parents and friends from every part of the country join together virtually to share in a moment of faith as we celebrate the true meaning of this Christmas season.
In a time when we’ve learned to adapt to change, our faith — and our Hope — remains unchanged. We look forward to gathering together as family in this season, and we hope that what emerges from this time of change is a renewal of hope that we can share with the world.
Preparing our Hearts: Advent
As a community of faith, the Christmas season holds special significance in the hearts of our Baylor alumni, parents and friends. This year, we want to help the Baylor Family come together in that community through the shared experience of Advent.
Baylor’s faculty, staff, students and alumni have joined together to provide short, daily devotional reflections on selected Bible passages, as well as videos and other special offerings aimed at preparing our hearts and focusing our minds upon the true miracle of Christmas: the birth of Jesus Christ.
In this season of hope and anticipation, we invite you to join the campus community for a time of inspiration as we reflect on the fact that Jesus has come for us once and watch forward, eager for Jesus to come for us again.
