Baylor named among nation's best on social media

July 1, 2016

s far as universities go, the nation's No. 1-ranked Facebook page and No. 3-ranked Twitter account have something in common: They're covered in green and gold.

That's according to a new study from Engagement Labs, which found Baylor to be No. 1 in the nation among colleges and universities on Facebook (and No. 3 among schools on Twitter), based on engagement, impact and responsiveness on each platform. Despite the Baylor family's small size compared to many other schools, the research showed that Baylor actually had the nation's highest engagement score on each platform, thanks to high-quality content and an audience excited to engage with the school online.

The honor is just the latest in a long string of accolades for the university's social media efforts. Baylor has been listed among the top 30 social media colleges in the nation (2011 and 2013), named the country's No. 5 most influential college on Twitter (2011) and No. 6 most influential college on Instagram (2014), and twice ranked among Engagement Labs' top 10 for both Facebook and Twitter (2015 and 2016).
