W. James Truitt

Dr. W. James Truitt, professor emeritus of economics at Baylor's Hankamer School of Business, passed away June 7. He was 71. Truitt spent his youth in Corsicana, Texas, and earned degrees from SMU, Purdue (where he met his wife, Cecile) and the University of Illinois. He was chair of the Department of Economics and Finance at Baylor from 1969-2000 and continued as a part-time faculty member until 2004. He worked with One Mission Society and Asbury University, serving as chair of both organizations' finance committees and investment committees. Memorials can be made to the W. James Truitt Endowed Scholarship at Baylor.
