Tommie Lou Pardew Flanders

Tommie Lou Pardew Flanders, of Waco, died Feb. 5. She was 85. A Nettleton, Ark., native and Arkansas State graduate, Flanders was an accomplished pianist. She married former Baylor Trustee Dr. Henry Jackson Flanders Jr., BA '43, in 1944. The Flanders spent many years at Furman University, then moved to Waco in 1962 when Dr. Flanders became minister of First Baptist Church of Waco. He later joined the religion department at Baylor, serving as department chairman during the 1980s. During the 1970s, Mrs. Flanders worked as a foster home coordinator at Waco Methodist Home.
