How Extraordinary the Stories, The President's Scholarship Initiative: Support Student Athletes

Whether through highlight-reel plays on SportsCenter or service on mission trips around the world, Baylor's student-athletes represent the university year-round, both on and off the field, with integrity and class. Robert Griffin III is just the most well-known among the university's 400-plus student-athletes.
As these student-athletes put in the extra hours on behalf of our university and Baylor Nation, they need our support. Since June 2011, the Baylor family has responded to President Ken Starr's call to bolster Baylor athletics by contributing more than $6.4 million in gifts and pledges. Of that amount, about $450,000 was given by alumni and friends with a desire to rally behind The President's Scholarship Initiative and support endowed scholarships for Baylor student-athletes.
Every gift, regardless of size, to the Bear Foundation Endowed Scholarship Fund or to any area of Baylor athletics provides resources for Baylor student-athletes and strengthens Baylor's position among our conference and BCS peers. Your gift shows your pride in Baylor athletics, and when coupled with the support of others, it makes a striking difference.
Over the last 15 years, Baylor student-athletes have been among the nation's best both academically and athletically, and through the generous support of the Baylor Nation, even greater success is on the horizon.
