James Pleitz

James Pleitz died May 15 in Pensacola, Fla. Pleitz was a well-known pastor of several Baptist churches over his career, including Park Cities Baptist in Dallas and First Baptist Church in Pensacola. He was a former Baylor Trustee, in addition to being highly active within the Southern Baptist Convention. Pleitz chaired the SBC Executive Committee from 1968-69 and was president of the SBC Pastors Conference from 1974-75.
