Dr. Kenneth Elzinga

Dr. Kenneth Elzinga is the Robert C. Taylor Professor of Economics at the University of Virginia. Each fall, his introductory economics course attracts over 1,000 students and is the largest class offered at Virginia; UVA estimates Elzinga has taught more than 40,000 students there, more than any other professor in the history of the university. His Antitrust Policy seminar, which is taught using the Socratic method, often has a waiting list of two years. 

He was the first recipient of the Cavaliers' Distinguished Teaching Professorship at UVA and is also a recipient of the Alumni Association's Distinguished Professor Award and the Commonwealth of Virginia's Outstanding Faculty Award. In 1992, Elzinga was given the Thomas Jefferson Award, the highest honor the University of Virginia accords its faculty. He frequently speaks about his faith to fraternities, sororities and other campus organizations at Virginia and gives invited lectures at colleges and universities across the country.
