Freshman '05 Numbers Are Up

January 18, 2005

The word is getting out about Baylor -- and senior high school students are responding. Baylor admissions reports that first quarter numbers for the freshman 2005 class are exceeding last year's numbers in all categories.
As of Dec. 3, applications were up 22.2 percent, acceptances were up 10.7 percent and deposits were up 11.7 percent over the previous year, with the numbers continuing to increase, said James Steen, assistant vice president for enrollment marketing.
"I think more high school juniors and seniors understand the value of a Baylor education," Steen said. "We are drawing the best and brightest from a wide variety of backgrounds to become a part of the Baylor family."
