Baylor was among 131 colleges and universities nationwide honored by the Corporation for National and Community Service at its highest levels as a member of the 2010 President's Higher Education Community Service Honor Roll with Distinction.

After a national search, President Ken Starr announced the appointment of Dr. Jerry T. Haag, BBA '88, MBA '89, former president of Florida Baptist Children's Homes, as vice president for university development. Haag assumed his new position on April 18.

Each year, Baylor undergraduate and graduate students earn opportunities to teach and/or research at locations across the country and around the globe.

By the April conclusion of the community input portion of Baylor's strategic planning process, more than 1,000 alumni and friends submitted their ideas about the university's future.

Former Cherry Award winner, Dr. Edward Burger, returns to Baylor as vice provost for strategic educational initiatives.
