Trailblazing Young Alumni

Baylor’s commitment to student success begins before students step foot in a classroom and continue throughout the course of their degree—making a difference even before graduation. Whatever a students’ passion, Baylor helps find a balance with academic rigor, hands-on learning and lasting connections. Some of our most recent alumni have hit the ground running before, during and after their time at Baylor in a variety of fields.  

From Grassroots to National Interest 

Greatness Adewumi, BS ’26, is leading the continued growth of a national initiative focused on rare neurological disorders, advocacy, and interdisciplinary collaboration. The Rare Neurological Disorder Foundation (RNDF), founded by Adewumi in 2021, has expanded from a small awareness initiative into a growing fellowship and advocacy organization connecting students, professionals, researchers and advisors interested in rare neurological disorders and healthcare equity. RNDF has also grown to include a National Interest List of nearly 400 students and professionals, and an advisory board of nearly 30 members representing medicine, public health, law, research and advocacy. Advisors include faculty and professionals from institutions such as Harvard Medical School, Baylor College of Medicine and Harvard Law School. 

Planting Roots and Reaping the Rewards 

Coffee is the family business for the Fords. Co-founded by his father and grandfather in 2009, Westrock Coffee started in Rwanda, where post-civil war women coffee farmers were paid a fraction of the “C price” — the global benchmark price to produce and sell coffee. Will Ford, BA ’16, is the chief operating officer and maintains a steady supply chain as a key pillar of Westrock’s mission: to build and efficiently operate the preeminent integrated coffee, tea and extracts supply chain in the world. Westrock now buys coffee and tea from 35 countries and sells in 55 countries worldwide. 

Helping Thy Neighbor 

As a former facilitator for the Beauchamp Addiction Recovery Center (BARC) at Baylor and professional writing alum, Morgan Humberger, BA ’19, combines her passion for addiction care with her skills as a communicator. Humberger is an embedded preventive behavioral health capability specialist with the United States Marine Corps. In 2024, Humberger was awarded the DoD Promoting Excellence in Prevention Award, traveling to the Pentagon to be honored. This year, she was a keynote speaker at the 2026 National Joint Meeting on Youth Prevention, Treatment and Recovery. 

Big City Dreams Come True 

Katherine Kuiken, BBA ’25, is making her mark in the Big Apple. As an account coordinator for the PR firm MikeWorldWide, Kuiken is getting first-hand experience in a face-paced, competitive world. Introduced to MikeWorldWide by a fellow Baylor alum, she was drawn to the company because of the wide range of disciplines and industries the agency supports. Kuiken is contributing to public relations campaigns by coordinating media interviews with retired professional athletes, supporting press conferences for elected officials, and getting a behind-the-scenes look at how major PR campaigns come together.
