Career Experience

Michael Griffin is a principal with Transwestern, a commercial real estate services, development and investment management firm in Dallas. He specializes in negotiating office lease, purchase transactions and ground up construction projects for corporate, medical and non-profit clients. He earned a B.B.A. in accounting from Baylor University in 1993 and an M.B.A. from Baylor in 2000. Prior to his 24 years in real estate, Griffin worked in public accounting as a senior auditor at KPMG Peat Marwick and as a controller of a Cadbury Schweppes subsidiary. He maintains his CPA license along with his real estate credentials, including membership in the Society of Industrial and Office Realtors.

Board Experience

Griffin has served on various boards and feels particularly called to give his time to faith-based institutions. He was a member of the Dallas Baptist University Board of Regents for almost a decade, and he served for six years on the Texas Baptist Missions Foundation board. He spent several years on Transwestern’s Board of Directors and is currently on the Executive Committee for Bosque Canyon Ranch.

Griffin has been named a DFW real estate Heavy Hitter for the past 20 years and been honored multiple times as a Best Deals of the Year finalist by the Dallas Business Journal. D CEO Magazine has named him to the Power Broker list for the past 15 years. Within Transwestern, he is a consistent top producer, nationally recognized in the Champions Club, which represents the highest levels of achievement in the firm.

Baylor Philanthropy

An involved member of Phi Gamma Delta fraternity during his years at Baylor, Griffin continues supporting his alma mater through financial contributions to the Baylor Bear Foundation, the Hankamer School of Business Scholarship Fund and George W. Truett Theological Seminary. He and his wife, Courtney, also enjoy supporting the Baptist General Convention of Texas and DBU scholarships. 

Church/Christian Mission Affiliations

Griffin and his wife, along with their three teenage children, are members of Prestonwood Baptist Church, where he serves as a deacon and in his Life Group.
