Ann Reed was born on Jan. 9, 1938, in San Marcos, TX, to W. W. “Dick” and Jewell (Vinyard) Myers. She grew up in Waco in the Bellmead area and graduated from La Vega High School in 1955. Known for her devotion to family and tradition, Reed found great joy in hosting holiday gatherings filled with warmth, laughter and lasting memories.

She married Edward Reed on Baylor’s campus on Nov. 1, 1986. Together, they shared a deep love for travel, spending many cherished years exploring the country in their RV. They were also passionate supporters of the Baylor women's basketball team. Her dedication to Baylor University spanned nearly four decades as she served faithfully as executive assistant to Baylor President Herbert H. Reynolds.

After her retirement from Baylor in 2008, Reed enjoyed working in her garden and observing daily the abundance of wildlife that visited her yard. She especially enjoyed watching and feeding the hummingbirds and deer. Their cats, Sadie and Tiger, brought special joy and companionship to her. Reed enjoyed watching the classic Western television shows as well as a good mystery — her favorite being Murder, She Wrote. In later years and as a lifelong Baptist, she tuned in to watch Sunday services broadcast by Christ the King Baptist Church.
