L.M. Dyson
Ludwig Mortimer Dyson Jr., BBA ’71, MS ’72, died Nov. 27, 2024. Dyson was born Nov. 4, 1946, in Abbeville, LA.
He met and married the love of his life, Dora Lynn Wright, BBA ’72. They had a wonderful love story together for 56 years of marriage. First, they called California home while Dyson served as a drill sergeant with the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War at Fort Ord in Monterey, CA. Next, they welcomed their first daughter, Dawn, BBA ’92, while in undergrad at Del Mar College in Corpus Christi, TX. Three years later their second daughter, Christi, BBA ’94, was born while Dyson taught at Texas A&M Corpus Christi. Their first son, Trey, BBA ’02, was born while Dyson was working on his PhD at the University of Florida. Last, but not least, now with Dyson teaching at Baylor, the baby of the family, Peter, BBA ’10, was born.
Dyson taught at Baylor for 35 years. Teaching was his occupation, but his love for others and meeting their needs was his passion. He thrived on figuring out how to do the impossible. He and Dora Lynn served many Waco churches as well as the people of Cuba the last 25 years.
