Hype & Highlights
Here are a few standout performances by current and former Bears this spring:

LAUREN BRISEÑO, B.S. ’24 Volleyball
The former libero/defensive specialist for the Bears was selected to the ’25 Women’s U23 National Team, joining 17 other athletes to train at the National Team Training Center in Anaheim, California. From the pool, 12 athletes will be selected to represent the U.S. in the Pan American Cup from July 25–Aug. 2 in Mexico. The U23 team is coached by Baylor Assistant Coach Joshua Walker.
BAYLOR BASEBALL
The Bears took huge strides in 2025, led by All-Big 12 and future pros Tyriq Kemp (SS) and Gabe Craig (RP):
33 regular season W’s (the most since ’17)
15 comeback W’s
20-4 in non-conf, 11-1 in midweeks
13-8 in games after a loss
NATHANIEL EZEKIEL, Men’s Track & Field
Joined by teammate Alexis Brown, Ezekiel helped Baylor to its first-ever sweep of the Big 12 Outdoor Performers of the Year honors. Ezekiel, having already won the honor for the indoor season, is the first Baylor male to earn Performer of the Year since Trayvon Brommell (2015). At the Big 12 Outdoor Championship, Ezekiel ran a 47.90 in the 400mH, breaking his own meet and BU program record, the Nigerian national record and the seventh fastest time in NCAA history. He would break that mark two days later with a 47.89 for the Big 12 title, posting a team that leads all runners nationally by nearly a full second.
