The Extraordinary Impact of Parents

September 3, 2025

Baylor Parents play an important role in the success of students. From volunteering their time through Parents in Prayer events and send-off parties across the country to serving on advisory boards, the parents, grandparents, aunts and uncles of Baylor Bears contribute to more than the success of their family members — they help all Baylor students thrive.

“Baylor Parents are incredible. They have a passion for supporting our students, and they believe so strongly in the caring, Christian environment here at Baylor. They are willing to serve, to volunteer and to give so that Baylor’s mission of preparing students truly meets our Baylor Bears where they need it most,” said Molly Ferguson, B.A. ’82, assistant vice president for parent and family giving. “One wonderful example of this is the way parents support the Baylor Parent Fund and how they have embraced making an impact through collective giving.”

Since 2018, the Baylor Parent Fund has allocated $977,903 to programming, support services and student resources that help enhance students’ Baylor experiences. Created as a way for parents to pool their giving to make a greater impact, the Baylor Parent Fund consolidates the giving of Baylor Parents, which is then allocated based upon recommendations by the Baylor Parent Advisory Council, who meet with student support programs seeking funding from all areas of campus.

The Baylor Parent Fund has supported financial literacy programs, technology enhancements, mentoring programs, study abroad initiatives and more, underscoring the impact Baylor Parents have as they join together in support of students.

In FY2025, the Baylor Parent Fund provided $125,000 to the following areas:
