One way Baylor responds to evolving workforce demands and equips students to lead in their fields is to continually assess academic offerings. In the last year, Baylor’s Board of Regents approved four new degree offerings during regular meetings in November 2024 and February 2025.

  • Master of Science in Materials Science and Engineering, School of Engineering and Computer Science

This program complements the interdisciplinary doctoral program in materials science and engineering. The new degree will offer students research opportunities with top Baylor scholars that prepare them for successful entry into the rapidly growing research and development workforce.

  • Master of Science in Learning Design and Technology, School of Education

This online program addresses the growing need for learning design professionals prepared to create digital learning experiences across various sectors, including corporate, K-12, higher education, government and nonprofit institutions.

  • Bachelor of Science in Aerospace Engineering, School of Engineering and Computer Science

This degree will prepare students to meet the growing demand for aerospace engineers in Texas and beyond, a career field that continues to grow at a rate above the average for all occupations.

  • Bachelor of Philosophy in Great Texts, Honors College

One of only three B.Phil. programs offered in the U.S., this degree unites honors-level study and interdisciplinarity and baccalaureate research. The Baylor Career Center reports a 100% placement rate for Honors College graduates, earning acceptances into prestigious law and medical schools, graduate programs, corporate positions and public service roles.
