Allen and Dawson Reopen Following Renovations
This fall, Baylor unveiled the newly renovated Allen and Dawson residence halls, marking the latest milestone in the University’s effort to refresh its historic, on-campus housing. Following updates to Penland, Russell, Martin, Collins, Memorial and Alexander, the two halls reopened just in time for Move2BU and the start of the 2025-26 academic year.
The transformation was comprehensive: every bedroom, bathroom and common area received a full upgrade, along with new plumbing and electrical systems. Most notably, a two-story connector now links the men’s and women’s halls, creating shared spaces for living, cooking and studying. Additional areas foster collaboration and community, reflecting Baylor’s commitment to holistic student development.
Allen and Dawson serve as home to the Leadership, Education and Development (LEAD) Living-Learning Community. Residents of all majors benefit from an integrated experience that blends academics and campus life, supported by a hall director, residential chaplain and faculty-in-residence — all living alongside students.
With Kokernot Hall renovations already underway for 2026, Baylor continues to invest in spaces that shape meaningful connections and leadership growth. For today’s residents, Allen and Dawson offer more than modern amenities — they provide a vibrant environment where faith, learning and friendship flourish.
