Give Light underscored the need for Baylor to grow the institution’s endowment — the donor-funded resources that provide annual income from their investment to fund scholarships, faculty support and more. The Baylor Family’s incredible response to Baylor’s call for endowment support resulted in the University surpassing its $500 million goal, funding everything from endowed chairs to scholarships to research funds across all 11 schools and colleges, supporting Baylor Bears for generations to come.

Meeting the Needs of Today

The Baylor Family finds many exciting ways to support Baylor University’s faculty, staff and students. Different from endowment, which operates like a savings account, providing spendable interest from a held, saved corpus, expendable funds act like a checking account, providing current dollars that can be used immediately for the needs of the University. The Give Light Campaign saw Baylor donors far exceed the $300 million goal for expendable funds, providing immediate-use resourcing for everything from research and mission trips to emergency funds for students in crisis.
