Chart-topping Jesus Music
One might recognize Forrest Frank, B.B.A. ’17, from his hit band Surfaces, which has dropped several iconic pop songs over the last few years. Their songs charted on Billboard’s “Hot 100” in the U.S. and nine other countries.
Or, one might recognize Frank from a favorite Christian radio station. His debut Christian album, Child of God, hit No. 1 worldwide on the iTunes charts in July — not just for worship, but across all genres.
As Frank has embraced his faith more deeply, his journey into Christian music has been marked by a series of inspiring releases that have resonated deeply with listeners. Songs like “Good Day” and “No Longer Bound” blend Frank’s signature sound with uplifting lyrics, offering a fresh take on contemporary worship music that Christianity Today dubbed “the Internet’s vibiest Christian music.”
In March, his song “Always” was at one point the No. 1 trending song on Instagram, and he’s partnered with such leading Christian artists as Lecrae, Maverick City Music and Elevation Worship.
This year, the chorus from track 17 on Child of God, "Never Get Used to This," is featured as the energizing soundtrack to Baylor's commercial that airs on national TV during college sports.
The son of a worship leader, Frank worked on his music skills in private while studying business. He spent a year post-graduation in an office job, making music on the side, before leaving to pursue music full-time.
In addition to his musical achievements, Frank is actively involved in his local church and community, leading worship services and mentoring young musicians. His story is a testament to the power of faith and the transformative impact of using one’s talents to glorify God.
