Baylor Named a TIME Magazine Top Producer of Future Leaders

Leadership and service — these are two central parts of Baylor’s mission to prepare students for their futures. Now the University has been named among the nation’s best universities for developing future leaders according to TIME Magazine’s inaugural “100 Best Colleges for Future Leaders” list. Ranked No. 40 nationally and No. 3 in Texas, this recognition underscores Baylor’s longstanding commitment to nurturing well-rounded leaders grounded in academic excellence and Christian values.

TIME, in partnership with Statista, analyzed the backgrounds of 2,000 prominent leaders — CEOs, politicians, Nobel laureates and more — to identify the colleges and universities that shaped their paths. Baylor’s inclusion reflects the University’s strong academic programs, focus on leadership development and emphasis on service.

“Baylor University produces outstanding leaders who commit themselves to a life of service in their professional fields, and we are honored by this recognition, especially as Baylor’s level of leadership and service is integrally connected to our Christian mission,” Baylor President Linda A. Livingstone, Ph.D., said.

In addition to the University’s overall Future Leaders ranking, Baylor’s nationally ranked Hankamer School of Business was highlighted as a notable contributor to the University’s success in this area.

“Cultivating principled leaders is a core tenet of the HSB mission,” said Sandeep Mazumder, Ph.D., dean of the business school.

“We have done this for a long time, and we have known internally from our alumni that many of them have gone on to illustrious careers and high-profile leadership roles in business. But it is nice to have external validation through these new TIME rankings and for us to see the success of our students in a quantifiable way,” Mazumder said.
