Sacred Spaces

Baylor’s deep dedication to its Christian mission is woven throughout the University experience, including the campus environment. Spaces for restoration, contemplation and communion with God are located across campus and are available daily to students, faculty and staff.

Elliston Chapel

Elliston Chapel: Part of East Village, Elliston Chapel serves as a place to play the piano or to reflect and pray in a quiet space. The stained-glass window featuring a tree and depicting the “dayspring on high” described in Luke 1 was designed to give the space an inviting and joyful feel.

Memorial Chapel

Memorial Chapel: Ornate with colorful stained-glass windows, Memorial Chapel is open to all students and is also used as a site for the University’s Chapel experiences.

Bobo Spiritual Life Center Chapel

Bobo Spiritual Life Center Chapel: Located inside the Bobo Spiritual Life Center, this intimate chapel displays a beautiful cross against a window that overlooks the greenery of campus. The chapel is open to the Baylor community during the day as a place to gather, rest and refocus.

Robbins Chapel

Robbins Chapel: Robbins Chapel in Brooks Residential College sustains Baylor’s tradition of valuing spiritual formation in students’ development. The stained-glass windows present a narrative of Christian virtue and its ultimate goal: union with God in Christ through the gracious work of the Holy Spirit.

Paul W. Powell Chapel

Paul W. Powell Chapel: Adorned with a beautiful pipe organ and stained-glass windows, the Paul W. Powell Chapel at George W. Truett Theological Seminary is an incredibly special space. It serves as the gathering space for Truett’s weekly worship experience, special worship services for faculty, staff and students and is open daily for quiet contemplation and prayer.

Garden of Contentment

Garden of Contentment: When Armstrong Browning Library was originally conceived, Dr. A.J. Armstrong envisioned “an outstandingly lovely” outside area that would “include beautifully designed benches where people can sit and meditate and absorb the beauty of the garden.”

Foyer of Meditation

Foyer of Meditation: At the center of Armstrong Browning Library, the McLean Foyer of Meditation features marble columns, black walnut paneling, a hand-painted ceiling and three cathedral windows. This space is ideal for concerts, a cappella choirs and other musical events.
