There’s almost no mountain Tyler Cooper, B.B.A. ’94, hasn’t climbed. Over the past 25 years, Cooper has completed his mission to reach the summit of all 74 peaks that are at least 14,000 feet high in the contiguous United States as well as Denali, the highest mountain in North America. He’s also conquered the tallest peaks in Africa (Kilimanjaro) and Australia (Mount Kosciuszko).

The story about Cooper’s commitment to health and wellness and his love of adventure through climbing was featured in the November 2022 issue of DCEO Magazine. The DFW-based publication includes a look at the personal side of DFW leaders and shared the story of Cooper’s passion for mountain climbing. Cooper, who serves on the Baylor Board of Regents, is a preventive medicine physician and president and chief executive officer of Cooper Aerobics and Cooper Clinic.

While at Baylor, he was All-Conference, Conference Champion and team captain in both track and cross-country as well as a member of Phi Gamma Delta (FIJI). Prior to medical school, he worked abroad and in business development for Cooper. He received a Doctor of Medicine from University of Texas Medical School at San Antonio in 2003 and a Master of Public Health in healthcare management from Harvard University in 2005. He completed his medical residency at Riverside Regional Medical Center in Newport News, Virginia, and at the University of South Carolina. He is board certified in preventive medicine by the American Board of Preventive Medicine.

Since 2006, Cooper has been practicing medicine and overseeing Cooper Aerobics’ eight diverse health and wellness companies. The focus of each Cooper entity is to fulfill the mission of improving the quality and quantity of people’s lives through preventive medicine and healthy living.

Cooper is married to Angela Lang Cooper, B.S.Ed. ’96, who was captain of the songleaders and 1995 Baylor Homecoming Queen. They are active members of Park Cities Baptist Church in Dallas and have three children: Clark, Lang, and Kai.
