Centennial Spain
On Jan. 25, Dr. Rufus Spain celebrated his 100th birthday. Spain became a history professor at Baylor in 1957 and had an incredibly impactful career regarding 19th and 20th century history.
“I think history may be the best avenue for learning about the world you live in,” Spain said. “The well-educated person is a person who understand the world he lives in; and if he understands it, he can at least adapt to it.”
