Die Hard Fans

More than 550 fans attended every home football game at McLane Stadium this season as Sic ’Em Stand Ins. The COVID-19 safety measures put in place at the start of the season restricted capacity of the stadium to 25 percent, but that did not deter these loyal Baylor alumni and friends from being in the stands to cheer on the Bears. To attend the games as Stand Ins, fans submitted their photos, chose the Baylor shirt to be displayed with their image and made a gift to support student-athletes with their purchase of the cutouts.

“The Baylor Family has been exceptional in their support, commitment and resiliency during this unprecedented season,” Vice President and Director of Athletics Mack B. Rhoades IV said. “Seeing so many alumni and fans show their support in this tangible way was a great encouragement to our football program throughout the fall. Additionally, their participation provided essential resources that have helped us support more than 500 student-athletes and maintain our commitment to Preparing Champions for Life.”

The Sic ’Em Stand In campaign raised  approximately $14,000 in support of the Bear Foundation and the Reunited Relief program benefiting student-athletes.
