Mission: To increase access to and availability of high quality comprehensive primary and preventative health care for the vulnerable of the Heart of Texas and to provide an excellent education, training and research environment in the medical, dental and behavioral health fields.

495 employees, including 122 direct caregivers comprised of family physicians, pediatricians, dentists, nurse practitioners and counselors

55,362 patients, accounting for 1 out of every 5 McLennan County residents

213,877 medical, dental and behavioral visits

Provided the majority of basic healthcare to the vulnerable population—the 96,626 residents (39.6%) in the county who live at or below 200% of the federal poverty level

When income is known: 

  • more than 97% live at or below 200% of federal poverty guidelines 
  • 79% live at or below 100% of federal poverty guidelines

5,508 patients indicated they were homeless; 6,638 lived in public housing

15,211 uninsured patients received primary care largely through a discounted fee program that resulted in more than 54,000 patient visits
