Equestrian Claims Third Big 12 Title

Baylor won its third Big 12 championship with an 11-7 victory over Oklahoma State at Baylor’s Willis Family Equestrian Center in late March. It was the second Big 12 title in three years for Baylor, which defeated TCU 10-9 in the Big 12 Championships opener to set the stage for the title-clinching win.

Following their Big 12 title performance, head coach Ellen White’s team earned the No. 1 seed in the National Collegiate Equestrian Association (NCEA) National Championship in Waco, where the Bears reached the championship quarterfinals before bowing out to TCU.

The 2017 equestrian team was led by four All-Americans: seniors Savannah Jenkins and Alicia Gasser and junior Rachel Van Allen (hunter seat), and sophomore Abbi Demel (western).
