B. Elizabeth Williams Whitten, '43, of Huntsville, Ala., writes, "I was a member of First Families of Baylor when a student for two years in 1942 and 1943. My mother, Loretta Livingston, graduated in 1921. My husband, the late Odell Whitten, BA '43, and I graduated from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in 1947, a year after we were married. I published a book, Livingston Lines, in 1980. One chapter is on my mother's life, which tells about her years at Baylor. Of special interest is that her car was called the 'missionary car' because it was used by several of her student friends to go to churches on the weekend spreading the Gospel."

Ret. Col. Bob Frisby, BA '50, of Mansfield, Texas, is Baylor's first AFROTC distinguished military graduate. While serving in the Air Force Office of Special Investigations from 1952-68, he commanded detachments in the U.S. and at District Office 71 in Greece. Frisby also served in counterintelligence staff positions in Chicago, the Philippines and Barksdale Air Force Base and as a director of security before retiring in 1975, when he formed consulting companies. He received the Legion of Merit, Bronze Star, Meritorious Service Medal, two foreign decorations and 15 other U.S. decorations. His wife of 50 years, Martha, passed away in 2009.

I was an Athenean. We've been married 60 years and have three college graduates -- Carol (an Aggie), Baylor Bear Kristen Moak Lovett, BSEd '90, and John (a Cougar) -- and nine grandchildren. Ed retired as dean of student services at Lee College with 25 years in higher education. I had 36 years in public education. Jim Lomax, BBA '57, is remembered as "The Goody Man" in the Baylor men's athletic dorm from 1954-57. He has retired after 50 years of selling caskets to funeral homes in Texas. He and his wife, Carolyn Payne Lomax, '62, celebrated 50 years of marriage on June 1. The Lomaxs have two children and three grandchildren. Jim writes, "The grands have spent many weeks over the last 19 years at Grammi and Do Daddy Camps. Bill Goodwin, BA '63, has written a book, Signposts of The Last Days, published in June 2012 by WestBow Press. Goodwin has taught from the Bible to students in a lay capacity for over 40 years. His minor was in religion while a student at Baylor. He is a deacon of Prestonwood Baptist Church of Plano, Texas, where he has taught the same Bible Fellowship Class since 1986. While a student at Baylor, he managed Baylor radio station KYBS and worked as an on-air DJ for WACO radio. Goodwin is married to the former Mary "Penny" Pentecost, BA '63. The couple was married during their junior year at Baylor.

This spring, Murray T. Neal, BA '65, of Chilhowie, Va., gave an address to around 80 past and present Waco Tribune-Herald employees celebrating 120 years of the newspaper's existence. He worked for the Tribune-Herald for almost 11 years from the time he was in Waco High School until he worked his way through Baylor. Neal, who became a member of the Apollo 13 Mission Operations Team, spoke about the Apollo 13 rescue that occurred on April 13, 1970. The team received the Presidential Medal of Freedom for bringing back the astronauts alive despite an explosion on the spacecraft as it neared the moon. Neal detailed many of the almost insurmountable problems and how they were solved. He is part of a long line of green and gold family members, including his parents, Murray Porter Neal, BA '31, and Mary Elizabeth Henderson Neal, '32, and sister Ann Neal Moran, BA '72. His grandfather, Dr. Thomas V. Neal, a Baptist pastor, received an honorary doctorate from Baylor.

For more than 25 years, Rex Russell, BBA '85, of Cleburne, Texas, has taught with one simple theme; you matter to God. That principle is reinforced in his book, The Butterfly Effect of Grace (Xulon Press, 2011 -- 134 pages), available at Amazon.com and elsewhere. "Nothing we will ever do, good or bad, would ever cause the heart of God to love us any more or less than he does right now. Jay S. Lefevers, MBA '86, of Phoenix, Ariz., has written Cancer on the Brain, a memoir that chronicles a rollercoaster five-year period in which he coached a Little League baseball team, saw his appraisal company named to the "Inc. 5000" list, and raised his children with his wife, Lyn -- all while battling a brain tumor, surviving multiple operations, and then unexpectedly being diagnosed with more cancer (lymphoma). "I hope my book can help people see that if you don't fight for the care you or your loved ones deserve, it can be a matter of life or death," writes Lefevers. Bobbi Reilly Sheahan, JD '91, has accepted the position of editorial coordinator at Future Horizons International, the world's leader in books, DVDs and conferences about Autism and Asperger's syndrome. Future Horizons published Sheahan's third book, What I Wish I'd Known About Raising a Child With Autism (Sheahan and DeOrnellas, Future Horizons, 2011) to critical acclaim, and the book was a silver medal finalist for the prestigious IBPA Benjamin Franklin Award and a finalist for both the Autism Society's Literary Excellence Award and the About.com Readers' Choice Award earlier this year. Sheahan is a columnist for S.I. The company was awarded a follow-on contract with the U.S. Coast Guard in order to continue transition work for the current telecommunications contract. She has started a fellowship with the Veterans Hospital in North Carolina to treat soldiers coming back from Afghanistan with brain damage and post-traumatic disorders. O'Bric started a second career after serving as a forensic analyst for the State of Texas.

The Industrial Asset Management Council (IAMC) awarded Sarah Roberts, BBA '02, senior vice president for economic development of Greater Waco Chamber, the designation IAMC Fellow. Roberts leads the Chamber's economic development initiatives that include business retention and attraction, regional partnerships, urban development and marketing Greater Waco to target industries. Roberts also serves as a director on the IAMC board. IAMC is the leading association of industrial asset management and corporate real estate executives, their suppliers, service providers and economic developers.

Michelle Williams Gibson, BM '03, of Roanoke, Texas, recently authored To Hymn We Sing, a devotional book based on the stories behind the hymn texts many Christians know and love. Gibson marries these texts with a deeper understanding of the hymn and its author. She is a member of Schola Cantorum of Texas in Ft. Worth and director of music ministries at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Roanoke. She also runs a piano and voice studio out of her home and is a highly sought after accompanist in the Dallas/Ft. Donahue, BBA '04, has achieved the prestigious MAI designation with the Appraisal Institute and has been promoted to vice president -- VAS at CBRE, Inc., the worldwide leader in the commercial real estate industry. Kevin is married to Tara Donahue, BBA '05. They reside in Austin with their two children.

Kellen Plaxco, BA '04, has accepted a Fulbright Fellowship to study in Belgium for the 2012-13 academic year. The fellowship will allow him to spend the year working at Katholieke Universiteit Leuven's Faculty of Philosophy, where he will analyze texts and archival documents essential to his research. By conducting a close reading of Didymus' texts with attention to his sources, Plaxco intends to reconstruct how the Platonist tradition influenced Didymus' theory of participation. After earning advanced degrees at Notre Dame and Princeton Theological Seminary, Plaxco is working on his doctoral dissertation in theology, to be completed at Marquette University.

In Dec. 2011, Sasha Ross, BA '05, of Laurel, Md., joined the international programs group of World Vision-U.S. as a program manager with the child development and protection team. She spent the previous year and a half in Kabul, Afghanistan, writing grants and developing new programs for a non-governmental humanitarian organization, International Medical Corps.

Caressa Lattimore Sharp, BA '05, recently accepted the director of marketing and communications post at Westminster School in Oklahoma City. After seven years as the catalog marketing manager for Petra Industries in Edmond, Okla., Sharp made the switch to the independent school's administration team in August. She is in charge of all internal and external marketing and communication initiatives.

Rizwan Amlani, BBA '06, and Anita Shariff Amlani, BBA '05, celebrated the first birthday of their son, Adam Zaid Amlani (Baylor class of 2033) on May 6. After getting married in 2008, Rizwan and Anita moved to the suburbs of Sugar Land, Texas, where they still reside. Both also received their MBAs together from the University of Houston in 2010. Nathan Barber, MSEd '06, head of Upper School at Second Baptist School in Houston, authored his 14th book, Resurrecting Lazarus, Texas, a novel. In May, Chase Steffens, BA '06, won an Emmy for Outstanding Graphic Design on Sport Science for ESPN. He writes, "Living in Reykjavik, Iceland, with my wife Eyrún, my 10-month-old daughter Stella, and our dog Mickey (a former resident of the Waco Humane Society). I´ve recently re-launched my food blog and am working towards changing careers, getting into the food industry. I met my wife, also a graphic designer, in school in Burbank, Calif. She designed the main title for True Grit as well as the trailer graphics for many other Hollywood blockbusters. Natalee Estelle Miller, BS '08, of Houston, wed Nathan James Hanna on July 21. Natalee also graduated from Simmons College with her master's in secondary math education and is a mathematics teacher at Strake Jesuit College Preparatory in Houston. A U.S. Army veteran, Nathan graduated from Sam Houston State University and is a wellhead engineer at Weatherford International. They were engaged on July 4, 2011, on Lake Winnipesaukee, in Natalee's hometown of Meredith, N.H.

Rich Hill, BBA '09, formerly of Longview, Texas, has penned Nutrition Fundamentals: The Simple Principles for Feeling and Looking Good, a guide to high-nutrient foods that help lead to a healthy lifestyle. While a student at Baylor, Hill found a love of helping others achieve their health and fitness goals. He moved to Los Angeles in 2011 and, in addition to appearing in several national commercials, television shows and print campaigns, has developed a clientele that includes top fashion models, TV personalities and Academy Award winners. His fitness program is currently in production for a video series.

Jeremy Shih, BM '09, cofounded CampusFit, a national organization recently featured in USA Today. Shih, of Plano, Texas, started a fitness and nutrition blog for college students in 2011. CampusFit, which will become a regular contributor of USA Today's college division this fall, focuses on simple solutions to everyday college fitness problems. "Fitness and nutrition information is often targeted at either youth obesity or the aging population. It's often assumed that college students either know or will figure out their fitness along the way. Unfortunately, with all the dubious information out there, it's increasingly difficult to know even where to start," Shih says. CampusFit will soon release a book, The NEW Freshman 15. Chris Woodruff, BA '09, is founding a nonprofit, Life Raft International, an NGO that works with urban refugees in Bangkok, Thailand. He writes, "The Clinton Global Initiative has recognized our potential, and from March 30-April 1, I attended Clinton Global Initiative University, a place where approximately 1,000 students come together from across the world to share ideas and develop their commitments. The Small Press, a division of Brown Books Publishing Group, is proud to announce the upcoming release of Teradil: The Age of Darkness, a young adult fantasy novel by first-time author David Richard Corkill, BSEd '11. Teradil is a morality tale about what can happen when power is placed in the wrong hands. Corkhill is a teacher at Rapoport Academy in Waco.

Ryan Luna, BBA '11, and girlfriend Genesis Devine, BA '11, both of Houston, recently climbed one of the tallest mountains in the continental U.S., Mount Red Cloud (14,034 ft.), near Lake City, Colo. Luna is the son of Cherry Martin, BS '78, grandson of Paul Martin, BBA '55, JD '56, and Betty Lou Martin, BM '56. Devine is the daughter of Texas Supreme Court Justice John Devine.

Bekah West, BA '11, married Nathan Lyons, BA '11, on Dec. 31, 2011, in Dallas. Their New Year's Eve wedding included a "Sic 'em, Bears" at midnight. The couple has made their home in Dallas.

Marissa Moore, BBA '11, MAcc '11, and Michael Wash, BBA '10, MTax '10, were married May 11 in Hawaii. Both husband and wife work as accountants for PricewaterhouseCoopers in Dallas.

Brandon Wold, BS '11, and Noelle Lucke-Wold were married June 5, 2011. Brandon graduated from Baylor with a degree in neuroscience, and Noelle completed two years in the Baylor Nursing Program before transferring. Brandon is currently in the MD/PhD program at West Virginia University School of Medicine, and Noelle is finishing her nursing degree at WVU School of Nursing. Dan Johnson, BS '11, married Sierra Bryson, BA '12, on May 19 in Austin. Dan is a software engineer at CBORD, and Sierra plans to attend Antioch Community Church's discipleship program in the fall. They reside in Waco with their new puppy, Mona.
