New David Crowder Song Rallies Baylor Fans To 'rise Up'

The 42,821 fans in attendance for the Baylor football 2010 opener Sept. 4 enjoyed more than just the 34-3 win over Sam Houston State; they were also treated to the debut of the latest song by Baylor alumnus and award-winning recording artist David Crowder, "Rise Up."

After seeing the Baylor "Rise Up" commercials on local television in mid-August, Crowder woke up one morning with the song in his head. He recorded it that afternoon and shared it with a friend in Baylor's athletic department. It quickly was incorporated into the opening video sequence for Baylor football this season.

The Waco Tribune-Herald reported that the song was released to Christian radio two days after its Baylor debut. It's available just for Baylor fans as a free download at baylor.edu/riseup.
