Immortalizing 'mad Dog'

Edd Hayes' rendering of R. Matt Dawson, BA '38, at the Sheila and Walter Umphrey Law Center certainly captures the spirit of Matt "Mad Dog" Dawson, creator of the modern Practice Court program that now defines the Baylor Law experience.

As Baylor Law Dean Brad Toben, JD '77, said at the unveiling of the life-size statue in July, "If you faced Matt in Practice Court, you admire the sculpture--and are a little bit scared at the same time!" A group of alumni has stepped forward to begin the R. Matt Dawson Endowed Professorship in Trial Practice in honor of their former professor.
