In addition to the Baylor basketball teams' positions in the preseason polls, six other programs have been listed among the nation's best this fall.

No. 4 Equestrian
The University's newest athletic program, equestrian, began the season 4-1 under the leadership of head coach Ellen White, BA '81, and came in at No. 4 in the Women's Intercollegiate Equestrian National Coaches Poll. The four victories included three straight wins at home in the Willis Equestrian Invitational and an upset of then-No. 4 South Carolina last month.

No. 7 Men's Golf
Head coach Greg Priest's men's golf team sat at No. 7 in the Golfstat rankings with one fall tournament left to play. Baylor has finished no lower than fifth in their first four outings, including a pair of wins, with at least two Bears placing among the top 15 individuals at each tournament.

No. 18 Women's Cross Country
The women's cross country team, led by head coach Todd Harbour, BS '81, has ranked as high as 14th nationally this season and at press time was ranked 18th in the USTFCCCA Division I Women's Cross Country Poll. The Lady Bears placed second at the Big 12 Championships, tying the program's best-ever finish, and were slated to host the NCAA South Central Regional meet in mid-November.
