200 Wins, 1000 Pts

Not to be outdone by the men's team, the Baylor women's basketball squad continues to hold its own among the nation's top programs. Through games of February 20, the Lady Bears were 22-3, ranked No. 8 in the nation and tied for the Big 12 lead with a 10-2 conference record.
The Baylor women have now won 20 or more games in each of head coach Kim Mulkey's eight seasons and have held a place in the top 25 rankings in every poll since week nine of the 2003-04 season.
The same night as the men's five-overtime win at Texas A&M, women's head coach Kim Mulkey claimed her 200th career victory. At 200-54, Mulkey was the sixth-fastest coach in NCAA Division I women's basketball history to reach 200 wins. Three of the five coaches ahead of her are in the Women's Basketball Hall of Fame; Mulkey is already in for her play as a student-athlete at Louisiana Tech.
The Lady Bears have hung tough even after losing starting guard Jhasmin Player to a season-ending knee injury. Junior Rachel Allison, averaging 13.3 points and 8.6 rebounds a game, was named to the midseason watch list for the Naismith Trophy, given annually to the nation's top player. In January, senior point guard Angela Tisdale became the 24th player in Lady Bear history to top 1,000 career points; a month later, she broke the school's career record for assists.
