Before you send off that tin of cookies to your favorite Baylor student, be sure to check the address. On-campus mail now should go to One Bear Place, not a post office box.

Eliminating the "PO Box" came at the request of the U.S. Postal Service in November 2002, said Candy Bradley, coordinator of campus services and collegiate licensing. Growth in the city of Waco and the University was creating duplication in box numbers, she said.

"We took the opportunity to provide Baylor with a unique address," said Bradley, who solicited input from students and employees and then presented about 12 suggestions to the President's Office for selection.

This fall's students will be assigned the new address with their student mailboxes beginning Aug. 1, and the complete switch over should be final by August 2005.
