Sept. 24, 2003--Ferrell Center

Baylor's volleyball team upset ninth-ranked Kansas State in four games, marking the highest-ranked opponent the Bears have ever beaten. It proved to be one of only five losses on the season for eventual Big 12 champion Kansas State.

Oct. 3, 2003-- Betty Lou Mays Field

Tiffany Boshers and Kandayce Farr scored goals 36 seconds apart as Baylor's soccer team upset 14th-ranked Nebraska 2-1. Baylor's defense limited the high-powered Huskers to only three shots on goal, all coming in the second half.

Oct. 4, 2003-- Floyd Casey Stadium

Behind a solid rushing game and opportunistic defensive and special teams' units, Baylor's football team shocked two-time defending Big 12 Conference North Division champion Colorado 42-30 in front of a national television audience.

Oct. 31, 2003--Spicewood, Texas

Angela Marvin and Brittany Brockman finished sixth and eighth, respectively, at the Big 12 Cross Country Championships, leading the Bears to a second-place team finish. It marked Baylor's highest Big 12 finish in cross-country.

Feb. 24, 2004--College Station, Texas

Matt Sayman scored eight points in overtime as Baylor's men's basketball team defeated Texas A&M 67-61. Overtime was possible thanks to a last-second shot by Terrance Thomas. The victory completed the season series sweep of the Aggies.

March 13, 2004--Fayetteville, Ark.

Jeremy Wariner won the 400 meters, and the 4x400-meter relay team won in dramatic fashion as Baylor's men's track team finished a program-best sixth at the NCAA Indoor Championships. Three months later, Wariner and the relay team repeated titles at the Outdoor Championships with a seventh-place team finish.

March 22, 2004--Albuquerque, N.M.

A 16-2 run midway through the second half propelled Baylor's women's basketball team to a 91-76 victory over Florida in the second round of the NCAA Tournament, sending the Lady Bears to their first Sweet 16 appearance.

April 17, 2004--Austin, Texas

Michael Griffin's leadoff home run in the top of the 10th inning gives Baylor's baseball team a 4-3 victory over top-ranked Texas. It was Baylor's first recorded victory over a team ranked first nationally.

May 8, 2004--Normal,Ill.

Josefin Svenningsson shot a final-round 71 to finish third individually at the NCAA Women's Golf Central Regional. The Lady Bears finished fifth as a team, clinching the program's first trip to the NCAA Championships.

May 20, 2004-- Getterman Stadium

Cristin Vitek established more than a dozen NCAA, Big 12 Conference and Baylor records with 28 strikeouts in Baylor's 16-inning, 1-0 victory over North Carolina in the program's first NCAA Softball Regional game. The performance earned Vitek a spot on ESPN's SportsCenter.

May 25, 2004--Tulsa, Okla.

The return of Matias Marin's serve sailed long, giving Baylor the first team national title in school history as the men's tennis team blanked UCLA 4-0 in the national championship match. The Bears lost just one match en route to the national title. Six days later, Benjamin Becker claimed the national singles title.
