Current Construction Projects Wrap Up

All current construction on campus will be completed this fall, ending one of the most ambitious building schedules in Baylor's history. As a result, students will enjoy apartment-like residential living, superb classrooms and labs, additional parking and access to what is expected to become one of Texas' best tourist draws.

Following is a rundown of the new buildings:

North Village Residential Community

  • Groundbreaking: May 2003
  • Dedication: October 2004
  • Square footage: 222,000

Baylor Sciences Building

  • Groundbreaking: May 2002
  • Dedication: September 2004
  • Square footage: 508,000
  • About 6,000 students, faculty andstaff will use the facility daily

East Campus Parking Facility

  • Groundbreaking: August 2003
  • Open: August 2004
  • Accommodates 1,200 vehicles

Mayborn Museum Complex

  • Groundbreaking: January 2001
  • Dedication: May 2004
  • Square footage: 143,000;
  • 100,000-plus annual visitors expected
