Freshman Charged with Murder

February 12, 2003

On Dec. 16, a 19-year-old freshman, Ryan James Frazier, was charged with the murder of his 17-year-old brother, John, who was found dead along with his parents, Daniel Frazier, 53, and Sally Frazier, 50, in their Mission Valley home in northwest Victoria County.
Firefighters had been called to the Fraziers' home by a neighbor. The bodies were burned beyond recognition. A spokesman for the Texas Department of Insurance said the fire was arson.
Ryan Frazier, an Eagle Scout, was a Baylor Interdisciplinary Core student and lived in Brooks Hall. Counselors were available in the residential facility to talk with students in the days before the holiday break, said Larry D. Brumley, associate vice president for external relations.
